I Am The Mighty Jungulator deliver a range of flexible education workshops and dynamic outreach activities, where young people contribute to the development of innovative education software. Browse the articles here to find a workshop model to suit your requirements, or pick and mix to create a unique package of activities for your budget. Since 2002, IATMJ have worked with young people from across the social spectrum, but most frequently with those from disadvantaged communities in Bristol. This work has contributed to community cohesion through provision of valuable skills training, and enabled the voices of young people most at risk from social exclusion to be heard. IATMJ's inclusive approach to outreach work raises aspirations through free provision of self-authored audio-visual software, and empowers through dissemination of useful knowledge. Our informal D.I.Y. aesthetic encourages a can-do culture and helps to build confidence and self belief. IATMJ's generative community portraits program (see article), involved young people in research and development of valuable new resources. Their contribution directly informed the development of innovative education software in partnership with Futurelab. This work was supported through Connexions West of Englands' PAYP scheme (Positive Activities for Young People) in partnership with Watershed Media Centre, Bristol.
PAYP 2 - Outreach activities and workshops 2005/06
Following the success of the first program for Connexions West of England's PAYP scheme (positive activities for young people), IATMJ worked with four different Bristol communities and youth organisations to deliver an exciting range of activities. This work enabled us to further develop both methods and software, creating a feedback loop between the workshops and IATMJ's audio-visual performances. Southmead Sound School Bristol, August 2005
Young musicians from Southmead who'd attended the previous workshop in February, worked with traditional analgue intstruments and live-sample processing techniques to produce a goth/folk/metal concept CD "Flame Academy', by the one-off youth supergroup Banq Ourobouros.

90 Second Challenge Factory - The Park Opportunity Centre - Knowle West - Bristol - August 2005
IATMJ returned to the park to facilitate production of several audio-visual shorts for Watershed's 90 second Challenge. Over 4 afternoon sessions, a production system was established to enable multiple groups of young people to produce both abstract and narrative video work using responsive real-time camera techniques, and through guided interaction with Jungulator's live input audio-engine. more info on - 90 Second Challenge watch movie - japanese treasure, gordon - by ryan howlett & sam ? watch movie - feather my dolly - by jessica clark watch movie - blue bobbing head cat 1 - by jessica clark & molly noble watch movie - blue bobbing head cat 2 - by jessica clark & molly noble watch movie - oops inside my face - by mystery boy
Save The Juicy Blitz Bar - Lawrence Weston - Bristol - October 2005
IATMJ returned to the Juicy Blitz a year on from their initial visit to facilitate production of 'Save The Juicy Blitz', a short film highlighting the fantastic achievements of the young people supported by Bread Youth Project. Working quickly, 'The Juicy Blitz rap' was recorded for the soundtrack, and all filming conducted in one day. IATMJ produced a DVD to support an emergency fundraising appeal to prevent this valuable resource shutting down. At an awareness raising evening held at Watershed in December it appeared that funding had been secured, but we are sad and baffled to say that The Juicy Blitz has since been forced to close. Watch the movie (5 mins) to understand why shutting the Juicy Blitz Bar is a blow to the community in Lawrence Weston.
My City - The Basement Project - Bristol - February 2006
IATMJ worked with young people from The Basement Project right in the heart of the city to facilitate production of 4 music videos in 2 days. This demonstrated how IATMJ's audio-viual production capacity for activities of this type, enabled participating young people to gain maximum advantage of a package of technologies and methods, designed in response to our work with young people. watch the video 'My City' by Middleman here watch the video 'Carl and Joska' here.

Futurelab develop Prototype Jungulator
Futurelab have helped with the developement of an audio visual version of I Am The Mighty Jungulator for use in schools and colleges. The resulting piece of software is a rock-solid flash-based jungulator that can handle both audio and video contenet simultaneously, whilst the specially designed interface simplifies the way the user interacts with the software, making for a more intuitive, fun experience.

Ambient death metal workshop
Flame Academy are a stupagroup made up from members of the Southmead Sound School and I Am The Mighty Jungulator. Their debut lp "Banq Ourobouros" was recorded between 9 august 2005 and 13 august 2005, as part of the PAYP funded series of workshops. The young people were encouraged by the jungulator to free their mind of structure and to create an original lp through learning to jam and improvise. IATMJ's awareness of band dynamics helped to take the young adults through a series of situations which illustrated and demonstrated the problems of working in a band whilst enabling them to role play various solutions .The participants learnt how to make musical compromises whilst working as a group, learnt how to communicate their ideas to others and working practice of jamming.
